CANCELLED – The Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course scheduled for October has been postponed due to a conflict. We will announce the new dates as soon as possible.

August 10 – The newly forming Historical Paradise Church Cemetery Association meets at the cemetery site on Paradise Road, not far from Penns Creek Road, Coburn at 7pm. Bring a lawn chair and anything you require for note taking. This will be a short meeting to assess the location for needs. In the event of inclement weather, we will meet at St. James UMC, Coburn. If poor weather is expected, please plan to visit the site on your own and look around prior to the meeting.

August 14 – There will be a volunteer fire department personnel appreciation day for the Millheim, Rebersburg, Spring Mills and Centre Hall fire companies.  Organizers are asking the community to provide a covered dish or dessert for the meal.  If you are willing to make something, please drop it off at the Rebersburg Fire Hall that morning, August 14th at10am.  And for efficiency’s sake, they request that all donated items be brought in a disposable pan. 

August 15 – Blessing of the Backpacks at Trinity, St. James and Sprucetown! All who are returning to class bring whatever you like for blessing and receive a gift!

August 18 or 19 – Leadership in the church are to prepare a simple report for our Church Conference this November. The Who is My Neighbor? report is to include an outreach plan that will appeal to the greatest numbers and need in our community based on data from Mission InSite. Mission InSite will hold two training events online; August 18th at 1p.m. and again on August 19th at 6:30 p.m.  Leaders may attend one of the sessions or watch the recorded session prior to our next board and trustees meeting. You will be provided a copy of the report prior to the meeting to look through along with the link to watch the training via by August 20th.  

August 19 – Ladies Coffee & Conversation at St. James UMC 9:45am. All ladies welcome!

August 22 & 29 – Susan Johnson serves the pulpit.  Pastor Theresa is on respite August 22-29 but will be available for urgent pastoral care.
