Something can be honored without being honorable. And something can be deeply honorable without ever being honored. That difference matters more than we might think. The next message in the Rethink Everything series is Rethink What Is Honorable. What deserves my respect, attention, and imitation?

September 13 – Sprucetown UMC’s 2nd Sunday Potluck Lunch follows worship. This month we’re having “Breakfast for Lunch”. Bring a covered dish that is a breakfast related item such as egg casserole, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, anything that speaks “breaking the fast” to you will be a welcome item on our buffet! All are welcome.
September 17 – Penns Valley Homecoming Parade Soup Sale, come to the parade and purchase delicious homemade chicken corn soup with rivels at the St. James UMC Booth near the grandstand! Calling for volunteers to help chop veggies September 16th, to make the soup on the morning of the 17th, and help with stand set up and tear down, and at the booth. Contact Colleen Snook or Kathy Highbaugh, project coordinators.
September 17 – NO Ladies Coffee & Conversation. Next one is October 1st.
September 21 – Trustees and Administrative Board meeting at Trinity Woodward UMC starting at 7pm. All are invited to attend and help with the business of the church.
September 23 – 3rd Quarter Staff Parish Relations Committee meeting 7pm at Trinity UMC.
September 27 – Fall Hayride at Trinity Woodward UMC. We start loading the haywagons at 3pm. Potluck Picnic begins at 5pm. Bring a covered dish to share. All are welcome! Raindate is the following Sunday, Oct. 4th.
SAVE THE DATE: Our Church Conference is Nov. 7, 1pm at Sprucetown UMC. Members of the church are encouraged to attend to be well informed and to vote on officers and more for 2027.
