FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 5, 2018
NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The Advance Edition of the Daily Christian Advocate (ADCA), the official journal of the General Conference of The United Methodist Church, is set to be available in a bound and printed format by November 26, with a PDF of the 2019 ADCA accessible online now.
The Book of Discipline requires that the ADCA be available to delegates at least 90 days before the opening day of General Conference. For the 2019 Special Session, which officially opens February 24th in St. Louis, that date is November 26.
“At their October meeting, the Commission on the General Conference voted to release the ADCA electronically when completed in order to give delegates and others access to the petitions and other information as early as possible,” said Brian Sigmon, Editor of the ADCA. “In addition to the electronic version, a printed copy of the ADCA will be mailed to General Conference delegates and those serving as first reserve delegates in time to arrive by the required date.”
The ADCA is published in English, French, Portuguese and Kiswahili. Together with the Daily Christian Advocate published during General Conference, it serves as the record of those who have been elected to serve as delegates, the legislation submitted, and the decisions made by the General Conference.
