What does your faith look like when some weight gets put on it?
It’s easy to talk about patience until somebody tests ours.
Easy to value truth until the truth costs us something.
Easy to believe in grace until somebody we don’t particularly like needs some.
That’s when signs of integrity begin to show. Sunday we discover that Christian integrity isn’t perfection. It’s when what we say we believe about Jesus increasingly agrees with the way we actually think, choose, speak, and live. Maybe the sign Jesus is most interested in isn’t something appearing in the sky. Maybe it’s something becoming visible in us.

– The Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course will be offered Friday, September 18, 2026 from 6:30-9pm and Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 9am-5pm at Sprucetown UMC, 177 Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills. Register by September 6, 2026.
– August 20 – Ladies Coffee & Conversation, all ladies in the valley are invited to get together at St. James UMC in Coburn the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9:30am conversation and refreshments.
– September 1 – Sprucetown UMC Administrative Board and Trustees Meeting 7pm, all are invited to assist with the business of the church.
– September 3 (ONLY coffee event for September) – Ladies Coffee & Conversation, all ladies in the valley are invited to get together at St. James UMC in Coburn at 9:30am conversation and refreshments.
– September 17 – Penns Valley Homecoming Parade Soup Sale, come to the parade and purchase delicious homemade chicken corn soup with rivels at the St. James UMC Booth near the grandstand!
– September 21-23 – Pastor Theresa will be on spiritual retreat with limited email and phone. Please know that she will return calls and emails as soon as she can.
– September 23 – The 3rd Quarter Staff Parish Relations Committee meeting is moved to Wednesday, September 23rd 7pm at Trinity Woodward UMC.
