Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Susquehanna Conference,

Grace to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, Healer of our Brokenness, and Hope of the world!

I have been in prayer and have been looking forward to being in each of your districts for our Holy Conversations. As our church moves toward the Special Called Session of General Conference in 2019, it is wholly important that our churches be in compassionate Christian dialogue with one another for such a time as this.

Following the advice of my physician, I must rest my voice for the next several weeks. It is therefore with regret that it is necessary that I postpone our Holy Conversations in each district.
Since our time together is vitally important, I will be working with our District Superintendents on a time to meet in the Spring of 2019 to discuss the developments of the Special Called Session.
Through these next months, it will be important to keep our congregations informed. Our Susquehanna Conference website (susumc.org) will maintain a link to the most recent developments from the Commission on A Way Forward and the Council of Bishops; answers to all questions submitted for our Holy Conversations; and a collection of resources for you to serve and inform your congregations with all of the available information.

I invite you to pray for our beloved church over the next months as we move toward the Special Called Session, and hear these words from Philippians 4:6-7:
“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

An invitation for United Methodist Laity and Clergy.

Session includes opening devotions by the District Superintendent, a briefing on the Commission on a Way Forward report, and time for Q&A.
