The purpose of the District Conference: We will share in worship, celebrate Holy Conferencing and the ministries in our district, vote on a new District name as we have expanded to include the Altoona and State College Supervisory Areas and vote and affirm our District Committees!
All Clergy and Laity who are members of the UMC (Paragraph 658 – members as determined and specified by the Annual Conference) are invited.
We will vote on:
– Affirmation of our new name that reflects the broader area we represent; The Mountain Valley District
– Entertain nominations to serve and affirm our District Committees that include:
o District Committee On Ministry
o District Church Building & Location
o District Committee Superintendency
o District Committee Nominations
o District Lay Leader
o District Lay Servant Team
o United Women of Faith
Note: We will remain the State College District through the end of the year and officially become the Mountain Valley District January 1, 2025.
