93 Days of Prayer for the General Conference

Sunday, January 21, 2024 marks 93 days until the 2024 General Conference of the United Methodist Church. Please consider the following invitation from our District Superintendent, Rev. Brenda Leigey:

“In this most troubling time in the life of our denomination, we need to pray earnestly for the movement of the Holy Spirit. We are varied in where we believe God is leading, but nonetheless we are called to be faithful and discern God’s direction.

Please consider partnering with your brothers and sisters in praying diligently for the General Conference and our clergy and delegates who will be attending.”

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I encourage you, along with all charge church congregations to pray for Holy Spirit leading, that God’s will be done. Prayer is impactful! What other reason does the devil have for trying to stop it?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Each of the 93 days we may lift up one of the people or groups listed in the 93 Days of Prayer guide. Or pray over the people and groups weighing on your heart.

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

1 John 5:14

Our faith and hope are in Him. Not in the world.

Thank you for your ministry of prayer. – Pastor Theresa Heiser
