ANNOUNCEMENTS: ** Indicates last minute change

April 23 – May 3 – The General Conference of the United Methodist Church will be held in
Charlotte, NC. A General Conference Guide link and a link to a video explaining the 2025-2028
quadrennium proposed budget are available on our website. We will offer a post conference
information session to interested congregants soon after the GC. Date/time/location TBD.

Through May 26 – We are collecting items for Care Kits for Mission Central that will be delivered
to the Annual Conference and dropped off and Mission Central kits assembled in the Grand
Ballroom at the Genetti Hotel. We are collecting bath size bar soap (2.5oz and larger- no Dove,
Ivory, or Lisa Brands) and adult toothbrushes (sealed in their individual packaging). The goal is
to bring enough supplies to make 1000 kits so that as a Conference we can be a blessing to others.

Prayer request:  The 2024 Susquehanna Annual Conference will be held May 30-June 1 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. You can watch sessions online and keep up to date at susumc.org. Please lift our Lay Member to Annual Conference, Beth Brown (Sprucetown UMC) and Pastor Theresa Heiser for Spirit led discernment and excellence of service. Thank you.

NOTE: There is no Soup Kitchen at St. James UMC this month.

April 27 – Ladies’ Tea hosted by Sprucetown UMC. Ladies are welcome at 2pm. Bring a photo of
your mother or mother figure; any size, framed or unframed.

May 1 – 1st Wednesday Bible Study 10am hosted at Sprucetown UMC. All are welcome.
May 1 – St. James Trustees meet at 6:30pm and Ad Board at 7pm. Members are welcome to attend.

May 2 – National Day of Prayer – St. James UMC will be open for prayer. Official prayer guides are
available near the bulletins.
May 2 – Ladies Coffee & Conversation at St. James UMC, Coburn 9:30am. All ladies welcome.

May 7 – Sprucetown UMC Ad Council and Trustees meeting 7pm. Members are welcome to

July 28 – Penns Valley Charge Wide Worship and Picnic hosted by the Fellowship Bible Church. Worship begins promptly at 10:30am with a potluck picnic to follow. Meat, beverages and table service provided by Fellowship Bible Church. Bring a covered dish to share. This will take the place of our regular worship schedule this day. Please join us for a time of praise, worship, and fellowship!
