ADVANCED LAY SPEAKER COURSE – ONLINE HISTORY AND POLITY
We don’t know who we are if we don’t know where we came from. This course will look at a brief history of the UMC and then the structure and organization of the UMC. This course suffices the United Methodist Polity Course.

Called to Preach is a class designed for those who have not completed formal preaching training, for pastors seeking a basic refresher course, and
for others who are called upon to preach in a pastor’s absence. The participant book for the class is From Pew to Pulpit by Clifton F. Guthrie
and must be read before the class.
Led by: Pastor Ray W. Bailor. There is no cost to participate in the class.

An advanced class for those who lead the worship service. The class will :
- Explain basic resources for planning and leading worship.
- Give the basic pattern of UM worship and its origins.
- Give practical suggestions on how to renew and revitalize worship.
- Help you be an effective leader in planning and revitalizing worship.
- Help you understand and communicate the uniqueness of UM worship.
- Help you lead a congregation into a deeper and richer experience of God through worship.
The class will be held via ZOOM. Please have a camera and a microphone available to participate in the class.
