– October 23 – The Chosen Youth Pizza Study begins with pizza at 5pm and a primer preparing the youth to watch the first episode of The Chosen. Youth will receive their season 1 study book to bring to each session and will be excused at 5:50pm. Parents may decide whether their youth should watch The Chosen later with them or with the rest of our guests in the sanctuary at 6pm. We highly encourage parents/guardians watch the episodes with their kids.

– October 23 – You’re invited to watch season 1 episode 1 of The Chosen – “I Have Called You By Name” starting promptly at 6pm at St. James UMC, Coburn. All welcome! Stay after for group discussion if you like.

– October 24 – PV Charge Staff Parish Relations Committee meeting 7pm at St. James in Coburn.

– October 24 – 4th Quarter SPRC meeting 7pm at St. James UMC, Coburn

– October 25 – Soup Kitchen at St. James UMC  Contact: Paula Smith

– October 26 – NEW DATE: Our Charge Conference is October 26 6:30pm hosted by Sprucetown UMC. You are welcome to arrive starting at 3:30pm for light refreshments and fellowship downstairs. Our cluster charges, led by our District Superintendent Rev. Brenda Leigey, will attend to holy conferencing to approve reports, officers and more for the past and coming year. Full members of the church may vote. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

– October 29 – A Halloween Open House for kids in costume will be held 11am to 1pm at St. James UMC, Coburn. There will be treats for the kids, crafts, and each will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips, and apple cider or water!  All are welcome!

– November 1 – Sprucetown Ad Council and Trustees will meet at 7pm downstairs at the church.  All are welcome to attend and learn about the business of the church.

– November 2 – St. James Trustees will meet at 6:30pm followed by the Ad Board at 7pm. All are welcome to attend and learn about the business of the church.

– November 3 – Ladies in the valley are invited to Coffee and Conversation to enjoy treats and a time of fellowship together starting at 9:30am at St. James in Coburn.

– November 3 & 4 – The Special Session of Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference will meet in Hunt Valley, MD to deal with filling bishop vacancies.

– November 6 – All Saints and Communion Sunday Worship.  Bring a photo of a loved one who has gone to the Church Eternal in the last year for the Memorial Table and spend time immersed in a message about the value of rest.

– November 6 – Watch season 1 episode 2 of The Chosen – “Shabbat” starting promptly at 6pm at St. James UMC, Coburn. All welcome! Stay after for group discussion if you like.
